now there is a park, and more open space for all in downtown Boston.
This might be old news for some of you, but this is the first time I made it back into downtown boston after the old I-93 elevated highway was removed. All I can say is WOW, what a difference! I really like the result and I can only imagine what it will look like in the Spring and Summer!
I don’t necessarily agree with how the Big Dig project was carried out and all of the problems and corruption associated with it, but from an engineering perspective it was an amazing feat. They managed to build one of the most advanced 4 lane highway Tunnel systems in the world under an already existing elevated highway. Traffic on the old elevated highway was never interrupted. I have yet to walk the whole “Rose Kennedy Greenway” but I plan on going back and getting more shots this spring and summer.
I was originally supposed to be photowalking downtown Boston with the “Boston Photo Mob” but I arrived late and missed the group. Either way, I would like to say thank you to Dave from the group for setting this up and taking the lead. I hope this means many more photo meets to come!
